[electronic translation] The Minister of Defense, Attorney Rixi Moncada, the Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Roosevelt Hernández, representing President Iris Xiomara Castro de Zelaya, and accompanied by the Commander General of the Honduran Air Force, Brigadier General Guillermo Rosales Rubio, and the Technical Commission, signed today the reception of two Airbus H-145 D3 helicopters.
The rotary wing aircraft with registration numbers FAH 990 and FAH 991 were received in Donauwörth, Germany, after the mandatory technical review of test flights in which the Honduran Air Force Inspector, Colonel Geovany Elvir Amaya, participated.
Within the framework of the Honduran Air Force’s re-energizing plan, and with the purpose of strengthening sovereignty, the defense of forest reserve areas and the fight against drug trafficking, Bambi Bucket operations, aeromedical evacuations (MEDEVAC), aerial intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (IVR) operations, and aerial search and rescue operations.
