LOM PRAHA sp will provide the Air Force of the Army of the Czech Republic with the services necessary for the operation of Mi-series helicopters until the end of 2031. At its Kbelsk Aircraft Plant, general repairs of the airframe, engines, reducers and other prescribed work are carried out on Mi-8/17/171 to extend the technical life of the “emíček”.

The life cycle support of the “emíček” fleet is contractually agreed until 2031, with the prospect of maintaining their operability until 2035. The “Seventeens” or “Stosedmdesátjediníčky” will therefore continue to fly both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The overhaul and modernization of the Mi series machines within the European Union are a great opportunity for LOM PRAHA, or rather the entire Czech industry, to utilize its professional know-how in the field of servicing and repairing this series of helicopters in the coming period. In Europe, it will be one of the last companies capable of comprehensively carrying out this repair activity, which may also bring interesting contracts to the Czech Republic in the future. This is also evidenced by similar activities of LOM PRAHA sp this year, such as the modernization of a pair of Mi-8MT aircraft of the Air Force of the Republic of North Macedonia or the general repair and renovation of the interior of the “presidential” Mi-8 from Bulgaria.
