Aerospace Optics to unveil Pulse/Timer switch at NBAA

Aerospace Optics Inc. will introduce the VIVISUN LOGIC SERIES Pulse/Timer switch to the rotorcraft and geneneral aviation industry during the annual National Business Aviation Association meeting and convention Oct. 19-21 in Atlanta, Georgia. Aerospace Optics will be providing hands-on-demonstrations of the new switch feature in booth 5815 throughout the convention.
The Pulse/Timer switch replaces other hardware items traditionally integrated into external circuits, including time-delay relays, external-pulse-generation circuits and relays that are used to change signal polarity. By bringing external functions inside, the Pulse/Timer switch simplifies installations and improves switch performance by reducing circuit design complexity, size, weight and cost. The Pulse/Timer feature generates a timed output or pulse and the output duration is a selectable parameter.
“The pulse is a conditional response to an event that is occurring elsewhere on the aircraft,” said Loren Jensen, president and COO of Aerospace Optics. “For example, if smoke was detected, the Pulse/Timer would sound a buzzer for 10 seconds and cause the LOGIC SERIES switch to blink. The Pulse/Timer would then allow for a manual reset of the system or maintain a continuous alarm loop until the smoke cleared.”
The Pulse/Timer switch is a two-channel device. It can initiate an action while letting go of a secondary signal, drive a logic-level into an electronic device, set blink time for the LOGIC SERIES switch and turn on a device – such as horns, buzzers and indicators – for a set time parameter. It can read various changes of state such as weight-on-wheels and weight-off wheels.
The NBAA Convention provides a platform for business aviation professionals to network and learn about new products and services. NBAA 2010 will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. For more information, visit http://www.nbaa.org/events/amc/2010/.
