The board of Eurocopter Spain has appointed Francisco Vergé Gracia as their new CEO, who will assume his new responsibilities on 1 November, the manufacturer said today.
Verge occupied until the position of director of the Eurofighter program in Spain and has held various positions in management, production planning, control, marketing and sales in Spain, Germany, USA and Korea, being fundamentally linked to programs like the Eurofighter, F -18 and military transport aircraft.
The new CEO joined the Aviation Building, CASA, in 1982, a company that was integrated into EADS in 2000. 53, is an aeronautical engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and has completed several postgraduate courses in composite materials, project management, leadership, finance directors and has an MBA.
Eurocopter Spain, located in Albacete, has one of the two final assembly lines EC135 helicopter in the world, is also responsible for much of the manufacturing process of the Tiger attack helicopter and the NH90 multi-purpose.
The company employs over 600 people and develops engineering services, customization for customers, deliveries and logistics activities with full responsibility for customer support and program management.
Eurocopter, a division of EADS, a Franco-Germanic-Spanish which was founded in 1992. In 2009, achieved a turnover of 4,600 million euros, orders for 344 new helicopters, and a market share of 52% in the civil and public services.
