Sydney Metro Airport Bankstown management, following community feedback have negotiated with the Airport’s helicopter training schools to amend starting times for helicopter training circuits at Sydney Metro Airport Bankstown on Sunday mornings.

“We have worked with the operators by negotiating an agreement to accommodate both community concerns and the need for the helicopter training schools to make the most of available flying conditions,” said Colin Grove, CEO, Sydney Metro Airport Bankstown.

Effective from 1 November 2010 helicopter circuit training operations will only be able to operate from 9am on Sundays.

“There will be no changes to helicopter training operations on Saturdays. It is important for the community to understand that non-training helicopter operations will continue as usual on Sundays.

The Airport will issue an operational notice, NOTAM (Notice to Air Men), to the aviation community advising of the change and we will also notify the local community. Our Noise Abatement Rules will be amended to reflect the change.
