Keystone announced today that it has signed a distribution and license agreement with the mobile health care communication firm mVisum, Inc.
This agreement authorizes Keystone to distribute and sell mVisum’s unique medical data transmission system for use on medically configured aircraft. mVisum’s technology provides the ability to send, review, and respond to diagnostic quality medical data, images, and studies on virtually any “smart phone†which runs on current operating systems, such as BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Apple, and Android.
Keystone Med-Flight plans to include the system as part of the standard installation on its own medical helicopters and provide the service turn-key to hospital customers. This system will provide the capability to transmit on a “real-time†basis, data such as EKGs, Echocardiograms, pulse oxygen data, or live HD video to the receiving hospital’s clinician’s mobile handheld devices or department based PC’s.
All data is transmitted securely, reliably and on a HIPPA-compliant basis, using mVisum’s patent pending proprietary system. Advanced technology features allow the system to be “network aware†so that another clinician can immediately be contacted if the originally intended recipient is unavailable or out of range. Once received, data can be reviewed, analyzed, and responded to using voice or text communication back through the system.
Rick Hinkle, President of Keystone Med-Flight said, “We are dedicated to providing our customers with the safest, most reliable and effective air medical transportation management and mVisum’s technology will give our customers an important tool to help them monitor and maintain the stability of very high risk patients.â€
Praveen Dala, President and CEO of mVisum stated, “We are excited about this opportunity to market our technology to a new health services segment. mVisum is certain that emergency medical personnel will see significant benefits from having the ability to transmit real time critical data to clinicians. With our success in deploying the technology on the ground at various hospitals, we believe that air medical transportation is a natural next step for improving medical communication using mVisum. We are extremely pleased to be working on this new program with Keystone Med-Flight, whose management team has pioneered many of the hospital based air medical programs now in existence.â€
