The committee, made up of residents, aviation experts and government officials, recommended modifying three established helicopter routes in and out of the airport. The idea was to move the routes farther away from residential areas as well as increase the helicopter flying altitudes to reduce noise.  Torrance is the base of Robinson Helicopter Co
