Following an order announced in October 2009, the Royal Thai Police have recently taken delivery of three Eurocopter Ec155B1 helicopters. These 3 new medium weight twin-engine helicopters will be dedicated to VVIP missions, and add to two others which have been operated since early 2005.
When the order was announced at the Asian Aerospace event, Captain Chesda Indrasthitya, Aviation Commander of Royal Thai Police said “This is not the first time that we are buying the EC155 helicopter. There are already 2 EC155s in our current fleet and our past experiences have shown that it is a truly versatile helicopter which fully meets our mission requirements.”
The following are the details of the helicopters recently delivered, sorted by the local Royal Thai Police registration
2903 – Eurocopter EC155B1 (6887) test flown by Eurocopter as F-OKFM
2904 – Eurocopter EC155B1 (6914) test flown by Eurocopter as F-OKFO
2905 – Eurocopter EC155B1 (6908) test flown by Eurocopter as F-OKFN
