AW expands customer support and services capabilities in North America

AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, in a global effort to constantly further enhance its Customer Support and Services’ capabilities worldwide, is pleased to announce the expansion of its support activities in North America through a number of initiatives.

Thanks to renovation and process enhancements during 2010, AgustaWestland Customer Support has recently re-opened to full capability the AgustaWestland Philadelphia Part 145 MRO Center. This now includes a completely renovated hangar floor, addition of a 5 metric ton crane, renovated Sheet Metal, Avionics and Transmission Repair and Overhaul Shops.

AgustaWestland Philadelphia Customer Support Team has expanded the existing contract with Composite Technology Inc. (CTI) for rotor blades repair on the AW139 medium twin helicopter.  The new contract augmentation covers full repair capability of Main Rotor Blades, including complex repairs as the replacement of tip cap on the Main Rotor Blade, and a development plan in 2011 for complex repairs of Tail Rotor Blades (mid 2011).

Moreover AgustaWestland has recently expanded the list of approved facilities for Aircraft and Component Repair in North America, to provide Part 145 approved repair and overhaul services for the AW139 medium helicopter. Qualifications range from full repair of Main Rotor and Tail Rotor dynamic components, Tailboom repair and upgrade, Hydraulic Power Control Module repairs, cockpit Control Panels repair, and Upper Deck repairs and upgrades.

AgustaWestland customer support mission is to provide a worldwide 360° customer service, ranging from purchasing to shipping, managing spares, repairs and overhauled parts on a 24 hours a day 7 days a week basis. AgustaWestland’s customer support capabilities include a comprehensive and broad range of products and services offered for the support of the worldwide fleets, including ‘in-house’ technical assistance, HUMS support, maintenance services, logistics, spares, repair and overhaul, power-by-the-hours type programmes and customised solutions. Furthermore, the total number of AgustaWestland Authorised Service Centres now exceeds 70 strategically located around the world and networked for onward shipping of spares to customers.
