Pennant International Group plc (“Pennant”), is delighted to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Pennant Training Systems Limited, has been awarded a contract worth in excess of £10 million by AgustaWestland. The contract is for the development of Maintenance Training Equipment for the AW159 Lynx Wildcat helicopter.

The suite of hardware devices will be used by the Army and Royal Navy to familiarise students with the physical layout, operation and organisational level maintenance and flight servicing of the aircraft systems. This equipment will comprise full size representations of the relevant airframe sections of the Lynx Wildcat aircraft. Each device will be designed and constructed using a combination of real aircraft parts, functional, high-fidelity replicas, non functional replicas and low-fidelity 3D spatial representations as appropriate to the training needs.

The contract will make full use of existing hardware and software models developed for previous Lynx helicopter training systems by Pennant and assets developed by AgustaWestland for the Lynx Wildcat aircraft.

Pennant’s CEO Chris Snook said “Pennant look forward to working in partnership with AgustaWestland to jointly deliver a value for money training solution and achieve the ready for training date of 2013. ”

John Ponsonby, Senior Vice President Training, AgustaWestland said “This contract continues our successful partnership with Pennant Training Systems for the delivery of maintainer training devices that enable us to deliver high quality cost effective training to our customers.”
