AHS announces Alfred P. Gessow Award winner

It is with great pleasure that the American Helicopter Society International – The Vertical Flight Technical Society – announces the winner of the prestigious Alfred P. Gessow Forum 67 Best Paper Award. A select group of members from the AHS Technical Council determined that the Dynamics paper, “Experimental Investigation and Fundamental Understanding of a Slowed UH-60A Rotor at High Advance Ratios” by Dr. Anubhav Datta, Science and Technology Corporation, Dr. Hyeonsoo Yeo, U.S. Army Aeroflightdynamics Directorate and Thomas R. Norman, NASA Ames Research Center was the best written and presented paper at Forum 67.

More than 240 papers were given and this was selected as the most significant Forum technical paper. It will be presented at the 37 th European Rotorcraft Forum which takes place September 13 -15, 2011 in the Ticino Park area of Italy (near Milan). The paper can be viewed along with the best papers from each of the other Forum 67 technical disciplines highlighted at Forum 67. Congratulations to all of the winners, who will be receiving letters and certificates from AHS Headquarters as well as being recognized in the Fall 2011 issue of Vertiflite magazine.
