Dare County in northern New York state has recently approved a long-term budget request for a new helicopter. Figures listed in the County Commission’s meeting minutes of 3rd October show a purchase figure of $9.1M budgeted for, with plans to spread the cost over 10 years.
Dare County currently operates a Eurocopter BK117 registered N401DC – a 1986 model they bought in 1990 – and the future plans are on the basis of costs from 2014. HeliHub.com believes the figure of £9.1M would equate to a fully-equipped Eurocopter EC145
