Helicopter Foundation International is pleased to be accepting applications for the Commercial Helicopter Rating Scholarship, a scholarship specifically geared towards students in the process of obtaining their commercial license and enrolled in an FAA approved Part 141 school or international equivalent. Up to four winners will be selected from all qualified applicants and they will be invited to join us at HELI-EXPO 2012 in Dallas, Texas.

The Nov. 30 deadline is almost here – do not miss the opportunity to ease the burden of your educational costs!

This scholarship, funded by the HFI and supporting organizations and individuals, provides up to $5,000 to assist a candidate who currently holds a private helicopter pilot license to obtain a commercial helicopter rating. A primary determinant will be evidence of the applicant’s skill and ability to be a commercial helicopter pilot and interest in pursuing a career as a pilot in the helicopter industry.

Deadline for submitting an application is Nov. 30, 2011. Scholarships will be awarded in Feb. 2012.

Payment of scholarship monies is conditional upon receipt of official documentation that the student has successfully completed the required coursework and has been licensed, and has received an FAA Commercial Helicopter Pilot Certificate from a certified FAA Part 141 school or international equivalent.

Scholarship funds will only be applied to tuition costs. Scholarship winners are responsible for their own transportation and ancillary expenses (books, meals, lodging).
