New EC225 for CHC – but only staying briefly in UK

New EC225 for CHC – but only staying briefly in UK

CHC has registered a new Eurocopter EC225 with the British CAA yesterday, serial number 2822 and registration G-JSKN.  CAA records also show that an Export CofA has already been applied for with an expected processing date of 24th January, so it will not stay long before moving to another CHC base.

This is not unusual.  CHC in the UK have quickly processed seven EC225s in the last 18 months, with two going to Australia and five to Brazil.  HeliHub.com undestands that these new aircraft have company modifications completed in the UK as the company maintenance centre at Stavangar in Norway does not have the resources to complete the work in the timescale required, and the paperwork is easier exporting an aircraft out of the UK.

We have no idea what the specifically-chosen out-of-sequence registration G-JSKN means, but the rumour mill suggests that it will refer to someone working for CHC in Aberdeen.  The insignificant extra cost has seen other such registrations used on the exported EC225s including G-CLAR, G-LCAS and G-NNCY – are we to congratulate Clare, Lucas and Nancy, we wonder?
