Three Mi-24 helicopters of a group of four ferrying from Uganda to Somalia impacted Mount Kenya in poor weather and in close formation – all three wrecks within 1km of each other approx 11,000ft above sea level. This helicopter completely burnt out (photo), except the last part of the tail which revealed its serial AF-808. All seven on board died – named as Capt. William Letti, Lt. Patrick Nahamya, 2nd Lt. Robert Mushabe, 2nd Lt. Nelson Mulumba, WO. David Kakube, Sgt. Mweshezi Rahumata and Sgt. Charles Lukwago. Weather/Visibility was reportedly a factor. The fourth helicopter, a Mi-8, continued to its intended destination
