Professional Resources In System Management, LLC (PRISM) is pleased to announce the new Vice President of Helicopter Aviation Services, Chris Young. The addition of Young comes as the company experiences growth and demand for their helicopter safety management system (SMS) solutions, which includes training, implementation support, and the PRISM ARMOR SMS software. Young will be based in the Denver, CO office and will report directly to Bill Yantiss, Executive Vice Presidents for PRISM. PRISM is a wholly owned subsidiary of ARGUS International, Inc.
“We at PRISM are excited to welcome Chris Young to our growing team,” said Bill Yantiss, Executive Vice President of PRISM. “The helicopter community has responded to the demand for increased safety initiatives coming from within and outside the industry and as such we have seen an increased need for safety management system solutions that are customized for each operator’s unique mission sets. With Young’s previous experience, he understands the complexities and difficulties helicopter operators face when implementing an SMS, and can offer practical guidance on conducting safety analyzes, hazard assessments, and incident investigations. Young is eager to assist operators looking to improve their safety culture and develop programs that will revolutionize the way helicopter operators view safety management systems.”
Young brings with him 20 years of aviation and leadership experience from the U.S. Navy, CJ Systems Aviation Group and Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation with over 2900 flight hours. As a SH-60B SEAHAWK instructor pilot for the U.S. Navy, Chris filled critical roles including the Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) Officer and SAR Standardization Evaluator. He also served as Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of several Reserve units. Young is a commercial and instrument rated pilot in multi/single-engine helicopters and airplanes who flew as an Air Medical Captain. While at Sikorsky, Chris was a key player in the development of Sikorsky Aircraft’s SMS, performed compliance audits, developed a comprehensive Human Factors curriculum, conducted aircraft incident investigations and was integral to the company’s continuous improvement process.
“The addition of Chris further demonstrates our commitment to the rotary wing segment of the industry, and our recognition of their unique operational realities,” said Joseph Moeggenberg, ARGUS President and CEO. “His first hand knowledge of implementing and maintaining a SMS in a rotary-wing environment along with his military and civilian experience will certainly resonate with our current and future customers.”
