On Fri., Sept. 14, at the ILA Berlin Air Show, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development (BMVBS) formally agreed to a cooperative effort to develop sustainable aviation fuels.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the FAA by Philip Murphy, U.S. Ambassador to Germany, and by Peter Ramsauer, Federal Minister for the BMVBS. It is hoped that this “Declaration of Cooperation†will foster an exchange of research data as well as a sharing of best practices for the deployment of new fuel technologies. Plans are in the works to extend similar agreements to other countries, including Australia and Brazil.
HAI President Matt Zuccaro was present at the ILA Air Show, along with Board Chairman Chris Erikson, Director of Safety Stan Rose, and VP of Business Development & Expositions Karen Gebhart. The HAI team worked on a wide variety of policy issues with government officials and industry representatives from around the globe.
