Malcolm Webb, Oil & Gas UK’s chief executive, welcomed the appointment, saying: “We are delighted that Oonagh is joining the Oil & Gas UK team. With her wealth of experience working in challenging oil and gas provinces around the world, she will lead the operations directorate’s work to improve the business environment for companies working on the UK continental shelf (UKCS) and enhance understanding of the dynamics we are currently witnessing.”
Ms Werngren said: “I am delighted to take on this challenging role. I look forward to continuing the great work of Oil & Gas UK in creating the right environment for investment in the UKCS.”
Mr Webb continued: “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing director, Paul Dymond, for his sterling work on the industry’s behalf over the last ten years. He has driven important projects with the Department of Energy and Climate Change to increase the efficiency and lifespan of operations on the UKCS and promoted collaboration of industry through agreements and codes of practice.”
