Pawan Hans has revealed plans to expand its helicopter services in Uttar Pradesh, with continued focus on passengers with pilgrimage and religious interests. The Indian operator has already launched a daily helicopter service between New Delhi and Vrindavan in Mathura district and is planning to serve the Buddhist Circuit spread over Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Varanasi within weeks.
A spokesperson said, “We are planning to launch the helicopter service between Varanasi and select spots in the Buddhist Circuit, which attracts a large number of domestic and foreign backpackers, who have good paying capacity.”
Pawan Hans operates a Bell 407 on the New Delhi-Vrindavan route, with the one-hour flight costing INR 3,900 and the return fare at INR 7,000.
