Just three weeks after Eurocopter appealed the process when they lost a tender for three helicopters to AgustaWestland, a court in Malta has upheld the original decisions. Eurocopter had resorted to an official court review after the failure of two administrative appeals to the Public Contract Review Board. The appeal was reportedly on the basis that the maximum take-off weight of the helicopters being procured had been significantly increased from 7 to 10 tonnes after the start of the selection procedure.
It was also previously reported that Eurocopter’s bid had been completely sidelined on a technicality of them supplying their bid on two CDs instead of one.
The value of the procurement is reported as €58 million
