Aviation Specialties Unlimited Inc., (ASU) announced today that the company has launched a new trade up program on the latest White Phosphor NVGs due to increasing demand for the innovative new goggles.
“Last year at the Airborne Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) annual convention we unveiled the new White Phosphor NVGs,” said ASU president Jim Winkel. “Throughout the entirety of the convention we had an overwhelming response. Because of the growing demand for white phosphor, we are announcing a new trade up program. This enables both new, and existing customers, to trade in old green phosphor systems for a new set of white phosphor goggles.”
For years, technology driving night vision has not changed. The white phosphor NVGs reduce halo, increase contrast, and enable pilots to get a clearer image. Initial users have also reported the new white phosphor systems even reduce eye fatigue.
Corporal Chris Sands is a pilot with Brevard County Sherriff’s Department. He has flown more than 1,400 hours with the traditional green phosphor. His unit recently switched to the new white phosphor goggles.
“I have flown about 30 hours with the new white phosphor,” said Officer Sands. “The new goggles are phenomenal. The clarity is amazing and the ability to see obstacles such as power lines is greatly improved. These new goggles will enhance our safety and increase our capture rate. The white phosphor systems eliminate interference with the image. I can see other units quickly transitioning to these new goggles and I can see our EMS units making the switch soon also.”
ASU is now taking orders on this new program. For additional information visit www.asu-nvg.com/TradeUp or stop by ASU’s booth number 101 at the annual Airborne Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) convention in Houston from July 15-17, 2015.
