Russian Helicopters, part of State Corporation Rostec, official partner of the MAKS-2015 international aviation and space salon, will showcase a wide range of helicopters at MAKS-2015, including over 10 military and commercial, series-produced and upcoming helicopters.
Military models supplied to Russian forces and international customers will include Mi-8/17 helicopters, the Ka-52 ‘Alligator’ assault helicopter, the Mi-28NE Night Hunter and the multirole military Mi-38M helicopter – developed from the Mi-24. Visitors will be able to see the latest ship-borne Ka-52K helicopter developed from the Ka-52 on the large static display. Commercial models on show will include the new light multirole Ka-226T and the cargo transport, medevac and VIP variants of the Ansat. Visitors will also see upcoming commercial models – the Mi-171A2 and Mi-38.
For the first time, people attending MAKS-2015 will be able to view Russia’s only mobile helicopter service centre. This new centre has capacity for two fully-equipped Mi-17, Mi-27N, or Mi-35M helicopters, and also delivers a convenient environment in which to work on the helicopters. It takes four hours to put up one of these hangars.
A multimedia-rich display at the Russian Helicopters’ stand will help visitors learn more about the company’s product range: the 360° panoramic cinema provides an interactive projection of the different Mi-38 variants on offer (transport, passenger, VIP, medevac, search and rescue, offshore); the hypercube takes you on a virtual tour of the Mi-171A2 helicopter, and teaches you about its construction; and the touch-screen lets visitors view a number of interactive presentations and videos. There will also be a model of the warehouse section of the mobile service centre produced by Russian Helicopters’ Helicopter Service Company.
During the flight programme, the Ka-52 Alligator will showcase its outstanding and unique flight capabilities in an impressive aerobatic display.
Visitors to MAKS-2015 will also have the opportunity to watch themed group flight displays – Parallel Drift and Search and Rescue.
During the Parallel Drift show, people will enjoy watching a racecar and an Ansat helicopter race, and execute in parallel the drift maneuver – the car on the ground and the helicopter in the air.
During the Search and Rescue show, the Ka-32A11BC helicopter will display its firefighting skills, extinguishing a blaze resulting from a major accident at a construction site. The Mi-17V-5 will investigate the collapse, and the medical Ansat and Ka-226T helicopters will evacuate the injured.
