The Nikolsky Lectureship is bestowed upon an individual who has a highly distinguished career in vertical flight aircraft research and development, and is skilled at communicating his or her technical knowledge and experience. The selected lecturer will give the one hour plenary presentation to the 73rd Annual Forum & Technology Display in Fort Worth, Texas on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
One of AHS International’s most prestigious awards, the Lectureship is named for Prof. Alexander A. Nikolsky, part of Igor Sikorsky’s team that developed the VS-300 and later a researcher at Princeton University, where he provided information crucially important to early rotary-wing aircraft designers.
Past winners of this award have included Alfred Gessow, René Mouille, Bruno Lovera and many other luminaries of vertical flight.

The nomination should include a brief, but complete, list of the nominees’ qualifications and may include suggestions as to the subject matter. However, final determination of the subject matter will be made by the Awards Committee and the recipient. Nominations must be received by AHS Headquarters by the deadline in order to allow the recipient ample time to prepare the lecture. The recipient will be notified following ratification by the Board of Directors at the October board meeting.
