Winnipeg’s Health Sciences Centre is excited to open Manitoba’s first helipad. The project has been in the works since 2011, as part of a new diagnostic imaging facility, reports CBC.
The new helipad was tested this past Friday, by STARS air ambulance. The use of the helipad will cut transporting time by half an hour, eliminating the need to have air ambulances land at Winnipeg Airport and then be transported by ground ambulance to the hospital.
