Caverton Helicopters recently let go 150 of their staff without a severance package, only a month’s pay. The two leading aviation unions; National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) and Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association (ATSSSAN) took up the issue and for two hours protested at the Caverton office inside the Murtala Muhammed International Airport. Workers gathered in on the premise despite police being there, armed with boards reading, “No alternative to conditions of service” and similar signs, reports Daily Trust.
