Air-Evac has opened up a new base in Decatur County in the old Parson’s airport. The county only has one hospital and travelling to a larger city can take up to an hour by road. They can now transport patients in an air ambulance to Nashville or Memphis in half the time, reports WBBJ Eyewitness News.
A flight from the rural communities will take 15 minutes to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. The Air-Evac Lifeteam crew consists of a paramedic, nurse and pilot who are all on standby at the base 24/7.
