The Defence Ministry had to reprimand its Maritime Self-Defence Force Chief, Adm. Tomohisa Takei, for diminishing the procurement procedure of new helicopters. A whistle-blower has reported that the MSDF’s decision to buy nine multipurpose helicopters took an improper change when Takei expressed pressure to rather purchase a large-sized MCH-101 helicopter. It was said that the preference was switched improperly. Takei has expressed his “deep regret” over the issue, reports The Mainici.
