The FAA has issued a new rule regarding the use of Enhanced Flight Vision Systems (EFVS). Only pilots flying parts 121, 125 or 135 are permitted to use EFVS if their vision is impaired, when descending from 100 feet over a Touchdown Zone Elevation to the runway. They have to land on a straight-in IAP under the Instrument Flight Rules. The rule will be implemented on March 13 2017, reports Aviation Today.
