Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian Prime Minister has approved the Russo-Chinese agreement for the partnership in creating an Advanced Heavy Lifter (AHL) helicopter. The agreement for preliminary cooperation between Russia’s Russian Helicopters and China’s Avicopter was signed in May, two years ago.

As reported by Russian Aviation Insider, Avicopter will have responsibility over the organisation, certification and testing, as well as the consecutive production thereafter. Russian Helicopters produced the AHL program, and will have to design the technology and subsystems.
