The British Military have been using their new Leonardo Wildcat helicopters for two years, even though they still do not have a tactical data link (TDL) capability installed. This means the crew have had to use voice communication, via radios or other media such as USB sticks to transfer the needed information. Due to budget cuts in 2008, tactical data links were removed from the aircrafts by the Defence Ministry, reports The Register.
