November 2016 saw the opening of the new Valley Med Flight hangar at OSF St. Francis Hospital and Medical Group campus. Recently, the hangar was available to the pubic in an open house setting.

The new hangar was built in two and a half months and is complete with office space, space for their AStar helicopter and even sleeping rooms for the staff on duty. Tami Evavold, Business Development Specialist, has commented that the open house was a great way of giving the public an opportunity to understand what role Valley Med Flight plays in the community, reports Daily Press.
