The European Aviation Safety Agency has ordered that changed be made to the “bubble windows” of AW189 helicopters. This was issued after the windows fell off during flight on two separate occurrences. They were designed so that in the event of emergency, they could be easily ejected.
The European Aviation Safety Agency has said that the incident may have been due to the rotation of the release handle during pre-flight tests. Leonardo has sent out a service bulletin about the issue, reports Energy Voice.
