The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given the Swiss foundation Helimission permission to provide air ambulance services in Himachal Pradesh. The Himachal Pradesh government and Helimission are currently working on a Memorandum of Understanding, reports The Times of India. They will provide search and rescue missions as well as relief in the event of fires, floods or other natural disasters. Helimission will build landing sites at Kullu and Manali, with their focus of relief going towards tribal areas such as Lahau-Spiti and Kinnaur.
