The Māia Health Foundation has reached their goal of raising $519,000 in their crowdfunding campaign to build a helipad atop Christchurch Hospital. The campaign, called the 13 Minute campaign was met with great enthusiasm from the community. There has been a rise of 40% in helicopter call outs in the area in the past year. The Rātā Foundation is matching all that they have raised, giving them their goal of reaching $1 million. Donations came from residents, businesses, even schools came together and held bake sales to raise money. The Mackenzie Charitable Foundation donated $150,000 and the Canterbury Orthopaedic Services Charitable Trust matched that price, reports Stuff.
