M International is pleased to announce its flagship MRO facility MINT Turbines, LLC (Stroud, Oklahoma), an approved P&WC PT6A and PT6T and Honeywell certificated Authorized Service Center for the T53 series of gas turbine engines plus components and accessories, has purchased and installed a new Hyundai KF 4600 Linear Machining Center.

“This equipment represents the next evolution of MINT’s parts restoration capability for returning worn parts to like-new condition,” stated Rob Ruck, General Manager of MINT Turbines. “It’s the fastest, most versatile, 5-axis Linear Machining Center available, and we’re utilizing it with great success.”

Some of its features include a direct drive spindle capable of over 20,000 RPM, a large 18” x 41” work table, a Tool Magazine containing over 30 tools (with a change time of 3.2 seconds!) plus an automated CMM measurement device. This machine has already recognized time savings regarding one inspection procedure which dramatically reduced our process time by 70%! Our goal is to further expand its capabilities for restoring worn parts while implementing new uses for reducing part inspection times.
