The Kazan Helicopter Plant of the Russian Helicopters holding (part of the Rostec State Corporation) delivered the first Ansat helicopter to the Republic of Turkmenistan, as well as the heavy multipurpose Mi-17-1V. Both machines will be used in the new International Burn Center for medical evacuation of injured and critically ill patients.

The contract for the supply of Ansat and Mi-17-1V helicopters was signed between the Kazan Helicopter Plant and the Turkmenhowayollary agency on March 31, 2020. In accordance with the contract, both helicopters are supplied to Turkmenistan in a universal version with medical modules and medical equipment on board, and anti-burn kits are additionally provided. The car salons are equipped with air conditioners.

Additional fuel tanks are installed on the Mi-17-1V helicopter to increase the flight range. It is also equipped with a side boom SLG-300, a landing and search light and an external sling for 4 tons for the transportation of bulky cargo.

“The delivery of the first Ansat to Turkmenistan is an important milestone in the development of the export potential of the Kazan Helicopter Plant. We hope that the high performance characteristics of the Ansat helicopter will be appreciated, and this delivery will serve as a starting point for our further cooperation. Both Ansats and helicopters of the series The Mi-8/17 proved to be excellent in performing air ambulance work in Russia. We are glad to share the accumulated experience with our colleagues from Turkmenistan and supply them with the most modern equipment, “said Aleksey Belykh, Managing Director of the Kazan Helicopter Plant .

Within the framework of the contract with the “Turkmenhowayollary” agency, 30 pilots and specialists of the engineering and technical staff of the operating organization were trained at the Kazan Helicopters Aviation Training Center. The program included theoretical and practical training, including classes on the new Ansat helicopter simulator. The cadets successfully completed their training and received certificates.

Kazan Helicopter Plant has a long history of cooperation with Turkmenistan. 2009 to 2015 11 helicopters manufactured by Kazan Helicopters were delivered to this country.

Ansat is a light twin-engine multipurpose helicopter, the serial production of which is deployed at the Kazan Helicopter Plant. The design of the helicopter allows you to quickly transform it into both cargo and passenger versions with the ability to transport up to 7 people. Ansat is certified for use in the temperature range from -45 to +50 degrees Celsius, as well as for operation in high mountains. In 2019, the Federal Air Transport Agency certified an increase in the Ansat fuselage resource up to 16,000 flight hours. In 2020, the Russian aviation authorities certified the installation on Ansat of an emergency splashdown system, a complex for the transportation of neonatal patients, and infectious boxes for the transportation of patients with coronavirus.

Multipurpose helicopters of the Mi-8/17 series have unique flight technical and operational characteristics. The design and equipment of the Mi-8/17 family helicopters allow them to be operated autonomously on unequipped sites in almost all climatic conditions, which is proved by many years of experience in using these machines on different continents.
