TEI has held a ceremony with its employees to mark the delivery of their 50th T700 engine – named T700-TEI-701D locally – which will be transferred to the Turkish T70 Black Hawk production line for installation.

The event held at TEI Eskişehir facilities was attended by General Manager and Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Mahmut F. Aksit, Members of the Board of Directors, TEI Managers and employees.

TUSAS Engine Industries Inc. (TEI) is an incorporated company established in 1985 as a joint venture of Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc., General Electric (GE), Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TAFF) and Turkish Aeronautical Association (TAA).

GE’s website notes that the T700 military turboshafts have earned a reputation for exceptional performance in combat and under the worst environmental conditions. Designed to be rugged, reliable and easily maintainable, current T700 models apply advanced technology to an experience base of more than 50 million hours of operation.

The -701D powers both the newest Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk and Boeing AH-64E helicopters. Through the incorporation of proven advanced technology, the -701D provides improved durability as well as improved performance while still maintainable with current ground support equipment.
