The island nation of Antigua and Barbuda in the Caribbean is a very popular tourist destination. Helicopter operator Calvinair was set up by Canadian-born billionaire Calvin Ayre in 2019, and exclusively operates Airbus H130 helicopters. Typical operations include tour flights around Antigua and the volcanic island of Montserrat, and a range of bespoke charters.

Calvinair is now going through the paperwork to add a third H130 to the fleet, after purchasing it from EuroTec Canada. Pilot Greg Scott told HeliHub.com that the additional aircraft is a response to an increase in demand, and will be the first in their fleet with the larger cargo compartments available on the H130 – as seen in the image of the aircraft below. This will give the company an advantage on inter-island flights to/from the neighbouring island of Barbuda.

The helicopter will be repainted in their iconic burgundy colours, and re-registered as V2-CHC, continuing their company registration sequence by adding to the existing pair of V2-CHA and CHB.

Calvinair expect it to be in service by December 15 once the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority have processed all the documentation and issue the Certificate of Airworthiness.
