For 20 years, the Alpin 1 emergency doctor helicopter has been available to the population and guests in the Carinthian Nock area during the winter season. It all started in December 2001 when the Heli Ambulance Team (HAT) built the heliport in Patergassen.

The helicopter crew, which is ready for action every day from 8 a.m. until nightfall, is alerted via the emergency number 144. The area of operation not only includes the ski areas around the base in Patergassen, but also the neighboring federal states. “Thanks to the strategically well-located base, the supply for the whole of Carinthia and its ski areas will be significantly improved,” explains Rassi.

Alpin 1 is also of great importance when the emergency location is in a place that is difficult to access . If landing there is difficult or even impossible due to the terrain, the emergency doctor is flown to the scene of the accident together with the flight rescuer using ropes .
