[electronic translation] Bell-412 helicopters and their air crews are operating from the Maquehue Air Base in Temuco and from the Temporary Air Garrison (GAT) based at the Carriel Sur Airport in Talcahuano, who continue to support the fight against the forest fires that affect the south of the country.

Thus, on February 8, an aircraft from Carriel Sur went to the Hualqui commune, located on the north bank of the Biobío river in the province of Concepción, with the mission of discharging water through the Bumbi Bucket system, in order to continue supporting the fight against the fire that has spread to the Nonguén National Park, the green lung of the region that also includes the communes of Chiguayante and Concepción.

Meanwhile, during the same day, from the Maquehue Air Base, in Temuco, a Bell-412 carried out water discharge operations to fight the fire affecting the Lautaro commune, in the Araucanía Region.

The Air Force remains present in the fight against forest fires in various locations in the southern zone, in addition to supporting the transfer of firefighters and specialist personnel who are working on the emergency affecting our country.
