Constructed as the world’s largest urban elevated Heliport/Vertiport, this public-use facility is located in the Central Business District on the south end of the Dallas Convention Center. The Dallas Vertiport has a dual deck, accommodating five helicopters in the parking area plus two vertical-take-off and landing aircraft at the same time utilizing the dual landing pads.

Helicopter Institute along with Longhorn Helicopters will utilize the Vertiport and existing helicopter route structure to execute their DFW Urban Air Mobility (UAM) project FLYP2P (Fly Point to Point). Additionally, Dallas area tours and helicopter flight training will be conducted at the Vertiport as well.

“It is the intention of Helicopter Institute to utilize the Vertiport to aid in the integration of unmanned aircraft within congested airspace” stated Randy Rowles, president of Helicopter Institute. Rowles further commented “we will be seeking an eVTOL aircraft manufacturer that shares our vision to move FLYP2P forward”.

HI Vertiport flight operations are scheduled to begin July 14th, 2023.
