Air Methods, the nation’s leading air medical service provider, announced that San Juan Regional Medical Center has selected Air Methods Ascend’s critical care in-person and online education programs to provide additional training for their AirCare crew members, who are part the hospital’s medical flight program.

Based out of northwest New Mexico, San Juan Regional Medical Center AirCare was established in 1986 and provides 24/7 air medical transport services across the Four Corners region via a Bell 429 twin-engine helicopter (AirCare 1) and a Pilatus PC-12 NGX airplane (AirCare 2). Since its inception nearly four decades ago, San Juan Regional Medical Center AirCare has transported more than 25,000 patients and traveled nearly seven million miles.

“We have an unwavering commitment to do our best for the communities we serve and that means investing in the resources, training, and education we need to best serve our patients,” said San Juan Regional Medical Center AirCare and Trauma Services Manager Robbie Donald. “We are confident that Air Methods Ascend will help ensure our crew members remain updated on the latest medical best practices to provide the best patient care.”

Air Methods Ascend’s in-person and online education programs provide access to world-class educators, state-of-the-art tools, and cutting-edge technologies to help pre-hospital and critical care clinicians build their knowledge, enabling them to operate at the top of their licensure and fulfill continuing education requirements. Education programs include advanced manikin-based simulation and virtual reality training that mirror real-world patient care scenarios, building life-saving skills and confidence. Courses meet certification requirements for the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN), Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE), and International Board of Specialty Certifications (IBSC).

“Air Methods is thrilled to partner with San Juan Regional Medical Center AirCare to provide their team with our Flight Line Readiness in-person program and Critical Care Review Course online,” said Dr. Stephanie Queen, Air Methods Senior Vice President of Clinical Services. “The premium access to Air Method Ascend’s best-in-class education will help their team continue to operate at the top of their licensure while maintaining the required CEs for recertification and providing the best patient care.”
