Nepalese operator Manang Air has had its Air Operator Certificate withdrawn by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.

This follows an accident on 14th October in which an Airbus H125 was written off, and only three months after a fatal accident with another H125 in the operator’s fleet.

The accident on 14th October resulted in the helicopter on its side at the town of Lobuche in Soluhumbu District. A press release from the operator stated that sole occupant pilot Capt Prakash Kumar Sedhain was seriously injured and transported to the HAMS Hospital in Kathmandhu.

The earlier accident on 11th July involved another company Airbus H125 aircraft on a sightseeing trip near Mount Everest, in which the pilot and five Mexican tourists lost their lives.
