Irish EMS operation re-brands its EC135s

23-Oct-2023

Online announcements by Aero Tech Paint of Thruxton UK show that the Irish EMS operation of two Airbus EC135s is going through a change of branding.

Previously using a red scheme fully based on the scheme of Thames Valley Air Ambulance (from where one of the two 135s was acquired), the scheme is now yellow with dark green trim.  The second of the pair was previously repainted into the “Thames Valley” type scheme as recently as February 2023, so there must have been some imperative to re-brand.  It is not known whether Thames Valley Air Ambulance had any influence in the change.

The Irish EMS contract was previously charity-funded, but from the current contract with Maltese operator Gulf Med Aviation Services, helicopter operations are financed by the Health Service Executive of Ireland – the publicly funded national healthcare system, responsible for the provision of health and personal social services.  Their “HSE” logo appears on the helicopter tail.

With the EC135T3 featured here now repainted, the other aircraft – an older EC135T2 – is now receiving the same treatment with Aero Tech Paint.
