Rostec State Corporation will present about 200 samples of military, dual-use and civilian products at the Dubai Airshow-2023 international exhibition. The main premiere will be the IL-76MD-90A(E) heavy transport aircraft – Russia has not presented such a class of aircraft abroad since 1994. In addition, the international debut of the modernized Ka-32A11M firefighting helicopter and the shortened version of 5.56 mm Kalashnikov AK-19 assault rifle will take place.

The exposition, organized by Rosoboronexport, will include products of UAC, Russian Helicopters, Roselectronics, Kalashnikov Concern, High-Precision Complexes, KRET and other Rostec holdings. The exhibition will take place from 13 to 17 November.

“Dubai Airshow is one of the main international exhibitions, where we traditionally demonstrate the achievements of our aviation industry. Our participation gives us a valuable opportunity to interact directly with potential partners and customers from the Middle East. This year we will present a number of new products, one of which will be really large-scale. I am talking about the IL-76MD-90A(E) heavy transport aircraft, which will certainly attract the attention of visitors. This is the first time in almost 30 years that an aircraft of this class has been demonstrated abroad,” said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy Director General of Rostec State Corporation.

The IL-76MD-90A produced by the United Aircraft Corporation is a deep modernization of the IL-76MD aircraft – more than 70% of its systems and units have been upgraded. In particular, more powerful PS-90A-76 engines have been installed, the landing gear has been modernized, and the wing has been strengthened and lightened. In addition, the aircraft received a “glass” cockpit – all the information required by the crew is displayed on multifunctional screens. For countermeasures, the latest defense system has been implemented.

Traditionally, military and civilian helicopters will be widely showcased. In particular, the Ka-52 combat reconnaissance and attack helicopter will take part in the flight programme. The “Alligator” is able to perform combat maneuvers available only for coaxial helicopters, such as flat turn towards the target, lateral movement at high speeds, deep glide with negative pitch angle.

The audience will also be able to see the Mi-171A3 – the first specialized domestic helicopter for offshore transport and maintenance of offshore drilling platforms. It is capable of accommodating up to 24 people – a record-breaking figure for machines designed to fly to drilling platforms.

Ansat light helicopter also will be presented at the exhibition. It is equipped with a medical module enabling first aid and stabilization of the patient’s condition during the flight. The medical equipment on board can include an infection box, as well as a special cuvette for transporting newborns.

The modernized firefighting helicopter Ka-32A11M is making its foreign debut. The helicopter is equipped with the latest domestic fire extinguishing system SP-32, its tank is filled with 4 tonnes of water in less than a minute. Up to 400 liters of foaming agent can also be added to increase its efficiency. The rotorcraft is adapted for the use of a water cannon, which makes it possible to extinguish fires on the top floors of skyscrapers and in conditions of heavy smoke.

Undoubtedly, the light multipurpose guided missile Izdeliye 305E, developed by the Machine Building Design Bureau (part of the High-Precision Complexes holding), will be of great interest. It has proved itself during its use in the North Caucasus Military District and allows Russian attack helicopters to hit engineering structures, armored vehicles, anti-aircraft missile systems and other enemy objects from a distance of up to 14.5 kilometers.
