A Uzbek-French business forum took place on 2nd November in Samarkand, involving around 20 organisations who supply to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan

As part of the whole event, Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Amrillo Inoyatov met with representatives of Airbus Helicopters.

The Ministry of Health has reported that discussions surrounded the prospects for Uzbekistan to purchase 10 Airbus H145 medical helicopters for the emergency medical care system of Uzbekistan.

The former Soviet country is looking to organise its medical aviation system “along lines that meet European standards”, creating a material and technical base and training specialists in this field, developing mechanisms for organizing a medical aviation service in mountainous and hard-to-reach areas.

Since the break up of the Soviet Union, Uzbekistan has used Airbus Helicopters as it’s only rotary wing supplier for both military and civilian use, with a single exception.

Helicopter market intelligence firm Parapex Media notes on its database that the state owned Uzbekistan Helicopters has three H125s, and the country’s military has eleven H125M and sixteen H215M helicopters.  The only exception has been a single Sikorsky S92 purchased for VIP transport, adding to their Airbus ACH175.

Other companies represented at the forum included French medical gas company Gaz Systemes and German pharma company Boehringer Ingelheim.
