Abu Dhabi Aviation announced today that they have made the first rotary-wing flight powered by Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

In a social media post, Abu Dhabi Aviation showed one of their large fleet of Leonardo AW139 helicopters, seemingly on the ramp at ABu Dhabi International Airport (ICAO:OMAA), emblazoned with the titles shown in the images below ..

This comes the same day that airline Virgin Atlantic completed a transatlantic flight from London’s Heathrow Airport to JFK Airport in New York on 100% SAF.
