EHA has elected Swedish national Fredrik Kämpfe as its new Chairman for two years. The EHA is the umbrella organization for the European helicopter industry. Fredrik currently serves as Director of Industry Affairs for the
Swedish Aviation Industry Group SAIG, a member of the EHA.
SAIG is an industry association representing some 85 Swedish aviation companies from the entire aviation system, ground and air, including most Swedish helicopter companies. In his role, Fredrik advises SAIG members on various issues such as aero political matters, legal and regulatory, environmental and sustainability, safety, security and more.
Fredrik is an aviation lawyer and experienced aviation professional, who has worked for two civil aviation administrations (national and European), advising on a wide range of legal issues as well as policy issues in the field of civil aviation administration, and in particular aviation safety. Fredrik worked for the European Union Aviation Safety Agency for 14 years and started his present position at SAIG in 2018.
“I’m honored to assume the Chairmanship of EHA. I really look forward to supporting EHA’s vision, the success of its members, and to further EHA’s role as the voice of the European helicopter industry. The aviation industry stands in front of big challenges from almost every direction now – financial pressure, sustainability and regulations being three key areas – and this is certainly so for the rotorcraft industry. To raise awareness of the sectors’ importance for society at large is thus becoming increasingly important, as well as driving technical development and fostering a continued high level of safety and environmental performance”, explains the newly elected EHA Chairman, Fredrik Kämpfe.
Marcus Dahlsten, CEO of SAIG stated:
“We are proud that Fredrik has been appointed Chairman of EHA. EHA is the voice of the European rotorcraft industry and an important player on the European scene. Fredrik is a driven and experienced aviation professional with a wide range of knowledge of the aviation system. He was instrumental in raising awareness of our helicopter companies’ capabilities to fight forest fires during the dry summer of 2018, which led to long-term procurement for that task. He is a very influential aviation expert and is well known in the public debate over the importance of aviation, and sustainability. I’m certain that Fredrik will be a great asset to EHA’s work and that he will play an important role in the success of EHA and we wish him best of luck with this assignment”.
Fredrik Kämpfe succeeds Christian Mueller of Switzerland. He will take office on January 1, 2024.
EHA is also pleased to announce that Oliver (Ollie) Dismore is assuming the role of EHA Technical and Safety Executive. His role will be to support the EHA membership with technical subject matter expertise in relations with EASA, national aviation authorities and the European Union. Improving European and worldwide safety of helicopter operations will be a focus, and this will build on work already started by EHA with EASA and other international bodies.
