Uni-Fly has been operating one AW169 helicopter out of Dundee Airport weekly to conduct mid week crew change operations to the Fred Olsen Windcarrier vessel Blue Tern since 28th December

Uni-Fly was contracted by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) in support of their construction of the EDF and EBS owned Neart na Gaoithe offshore wind farm in the outer Firth of Forth, with the initial phase of the contract concluding by the middle of this month. The company, with their main operating base at Humberside Airport, established a temporary line maintenance station at Dundee using their recently granted Part 145 Maintenance Organization Approval.

Uni-Fly will also take delivery of the Group’s fourth AW169 later today, and expects to place it on contract in March to support their presence in Europe to supply the growing demand for helicopter support for offshore renewable energy.  The aircraft departed the Leonardo plant at Vergiate at lunchtime today for the short flight to Milan Malpensa airport to clear customs.  It is expected in the UK this evening, and flies on the Danish registration OY-HOT.
