S92s stop flying on the North Sea

29-Feb-2024 Source: HeliHub.com

Following the Bristow SAR S92 accident off Norway last night, we observe that practically every offshore flight involving Sikorsky S92s has been cancelled.

As this story is published, one Bristow S92 G-CKXL is on long finals for Aberdeen and one Offshore Helicopter Services S92 G-VINP is outbound north-east from Aberdeen to a rig

No S92s are flying off the Norwegian coast at all

One Bristow SAR S92 is flying out of Newquay off the southwest tip of the UK

And that is all the S92s currently airborne in the whole of Europe

UPDATE 1048GMT – Equinor confirm they have halted all regular flights on the Norwegian continental shelf out of consideration for those affected and to gain an overview of the situation.
